Yesterday was my birthday but I took a day off and this morning got a call from our receptionist telling I have delivery and I asked her what it was - to her excitement she said I have flowers! Look at the card and it's from a girl I'm seeing for about 9 months now. Kind a embarrassed because I have to walk through our atrium building to my desk and everybody keep admiring how beautiful the flowers are and everyone stop by at my cube to give compliments and wish me happy birthday.Part of me kind a felt good also. Do you guys like receiving flowers ? I know most women does. Here's a picture from my crappy cell phone.

Well, if nothing else your flowers impressed the ladies at work. Might work to your benefit if the 9 month romance doesn't work out. A chick sending flowers to a dude tells the other ladies he might not be the typical zipper.
Got handcuffs for the birthday celebration tonight? :D

I love receiving flowers, but then again, I'm an old fart who already owns most (but not all) of the power tools I need. But then again, a gift certificate to the LBS would be nice- could even trump roses, but I dare say that's probably true for nearly everyone in here, male or female.
I received my first ever bunch of flowers last week. I think it's a very sweet gesture for either sex. Unless the card attached reads "These are what I'm putting on your grave after I kills you dead." In that case, maybe not so sweet.

As a manly man of manliness, I feel comfortable saying this: Flowers are awesome.
I once received a rose from an ex girlfriend after I had unsuccessfully attempted to make up. In the blank card that came with it, it said, " I would have sent you a dozen , but I didn't think 12 of these would fit up your ass".
I was sure the romance was over at that point.

I spent $80 on white roses the other day, then promptly canceled the order because of how ******** and pathetic that was.
I probably wouldn't send flowers but maybe a gift basket of some sort. Anyhoo, just be happy she is thinking of you :) Some people out there would be so grateful to receive anything :)

I send flowers to anyone who means a lot to me, from family, to bf, to husband, to dear friends. The fact that it was your birthday, and not just a normal day...well, just chill, nismosr. :)
Stop, take a deep breath.
This gal simply thinks a lot of you, after only nine short months, and wants you to know it, and everyone in your office to know that someone thinks enough of you to send flowers. Nothing "girly" about it. Flowers, indeed, are beautiful things. And, the gesture is very nice.
Did you notice how everyone seemed to think that the flowers are "cool"?
Flowers are a nice way to say, "Hey, I'm thinking of you because I really hold you in high esteem and like you very much, but couldn't think of anything else you'd either want or need." Or, as is often my case, "You have everything you need, and obviously don't need more "stuff," so here are some beautiful flowers to enjoy for a couple of weeks because I want to give you something beautiful, even if it doesn't last very long. It is, after all, just a token of my affection/esteem for you."
OP, accept it, tell her if her gift left you feeling good, and, maybe by this time next year, you'll be celebrating your honeymoon together somewhere, or she'll just send you another bouquet just to say to you how sensational you are to her. :)

Yet.
Maximan, when you are a bit older, and have developed very deep and long-lasting friendships, and have never been afraid to develop such friendships with women, you will, no doubt, receive flowers. I was probably 28 or 29 before I received my first dozen roses. :)
Just keep being and endeavoring to be, a fine human being, and you'll see many good rewards coming your way. Vega promise (urm, since you won't let me sign off as your "Foo-mom." :( )....

I think they're a waste of money. I can't eat them. I can't ride them. I can't re-sell them on Ebay. I just can't think of a single use for them.

That's because you're not old enough yet, and haven't had that experience of "I'm too farkin' tired to keep dealin' with puttin' all this shiat on eBay." At some point in your life, you'll be glad for something that is very temporal as a gift. Vega promise. ;)

This is funny ..
" I would have sent you a dozen , but I didn't think 12 of these would fit up your ass".
She asked me not to take the flowers home and just leave it at my desk - so I could see them for the rest of the week and think of her. so thats what I did .

My teanage daughter and I got into an argument yesterday about how she was treating her sister. she stopped at work last night with a bouquet of flowers for me, thought that was the nicest thing:)
Your flowers look extra specialllllly nice with that Hummer in the background:p
I love flowers - and I've sent my men flowers. Last XMA (ex-man-attachment) hated crowds, to be noticed, etc (no wonder we didn't make it - I'm the opposite) - and when I sent him flowers for his birthday - he was having a tough time in his life and I thought it would cheer him up ... hardly. He was embarrassed and actually angry. He ended up not receiving his birthday present too for the way he went on ranting and sulking. Hmmmmmm and we were done 4 months later too .... hmmmmm.
But anyway - most all other guys enjoyed their flowers - mostly, I think, because it was a true surprise.
Nevermind I thought you meant Wayland Flowers...

Neighter of us like flowers, so no, don't like receiving them. They are a lot of money to watch something die.
Flowers are great, but I'd rather plant flowers than receive cut flowers.
I guess I'm a bit of a pansy :rimshot:
I love flowers (all of my art focuses on them) but no one ever gives them to me :(

Flowers sent, for no special reason, get fantasticly wonderful results. If your florist has them, send Fire and Ice roses.

My fiancee doesn't get flowers for me; she gets me plants. I don't groove on cut flowers so much because they wilt pretty quickly; but ever since she first visited me back in Ohio, she's known that I'm very much into taking care of my plants.
