Can anyone tell me how long shipping takes from Target on a Forge bike? Would like to have it in about two weeks. Possible?

I would say that it would take forever(literally) because you shouldnt buy that bike. Spend 20$ more and get a Specialized Hardrock Sport. :)

yeah don't buy bikes from department or toy stores. bikes are not toys.

gwhunter: go to a real bike shop and find something better (easy task). Never buy a bike from Target or any department store.

My apologies to the "elite" on this board. I'm not going to use this bike but for getting to and from hunting locations so I refuse to spend a lot since it will be stored for 10 or 11 months out of the year. Also don't want a POS from wal-mart. Thanks to anyone that would be willing to give a simple answer. Sorry to cause the others of you to waste your time with sarcastic remarks without answers but feel the need to reply anyway.

Oh man, your right. I really butchered it the second time around. I only wrote it again becasue something was wrong with my connection and i didn't think that it went through the first time. Oh well. haha. OP, definatly go check out a bike shop. The specialized hardrock is right around the same price as that target bike ou were talking about. Correct me if i am wrong but i believe it is about $349.

Perhaps you should have mentioned the bike would be treated as a utilitarian beater and rarely used. How were we supposed to know?
Email Target and ask. Your bike will probably arrive before they get an answer back to you.

We are not the elite, and we do not feel superior to you in any way. We're simply a bunch of mountain bikers who have experience with bikes and are willing to impart it onto you. I understand your mindset, but the fact is, department store bikes will never be as reliable or ride as well as lbs bikes. They will not fit as well because they only come in one size. They are not professionally assembled and thus suffer from reliability issues. My suggestion to you is to take the good advice that is given to you. I assume you're planning to drop at least 200 on this bike. A Trek 820 can be found fairly cheap, as can a 2007 Hardrock XC. The price you will find the bikes at is not necessarily the cheapest you can get them at. The closeout prices for 2007 will let you get a decent bike probably around 100 below the msrp.

While waiting for some one that had ordered one to reply. I was on the phone with Target. FYI those that might have the same? 1 week to 10 days. Yeah I could have done that first but I used these forums to find the "best" cheap bike and also thought I might get the answer quicker than calling. Thanks anyway.

For the same price you can get a bike from a LBS, one that is properly assembled, safe to ride, warranted by the LBS, and tuned up free for the first time you need it (all good LBS's do this). The suggestion above as others have posted are good possible choices for you.
