I am newer to this great sport and was wondering is there much on Cable TV for road racing? I live in the Midwest of the US and will be getting digital Cable.

OLN is your best bet. They have daily coverage of all three major tours. They also show a few classics and world cup races. I don't believe they show the worlds. :(

They (OLN) showed the world championship last year. It was the first bike race I ever watched.
