Hey, Denver Riders - attn: Raedeke (and others)

My wife and I are doing the Park to Park Ride September 13 starting at Cherry Creek Park to Confluence Park to Chatfield via Bear Lake Park (optional loop for a Century) and back.

I doubt we will get much beyond Confluence Park (and back - 39 miles - also we are going to ride in to the park instead of driving, adding miles before we start), if that far, but, wondered if you were also going to do this ride??

It is limited to 500 people, and I have no clue if it is full. It promotes and supports Bicycle Colorado, among other groups.

Let me know if you, (or if any other Denver area riders) are going to be there??

Perhaps we could say Howdy?

Thanks DnvrFox for letting us know.

Oh, how I wish I could go. I was so disappointed to see that the ride is on the 13th. I'll be in Iowa visiting my family until the 15th.

I ride about 75 miles of this route at least once a month. Next time I do this route, I'll add the Bear Lake Park loop to make it 100 miles.

A few of us (the Weez'n Geezeers) rode this on Saturday. Unfortunately due to the cold, 45 degrees at the start, the turnout was pretty light. We did the 75 mile ride in just a little over 4 1/2 hours. No major problems other then flat tires. Three out of the five riders had flats. Unbelievable considering the route was on the bike paths which were (or so they appeared) nice and clean. All I can say is that arm and leg warmers were the necessity of the day. The kicker was that Sunday was absolutely wonderful, sunny and warm. Oh well, there is always next year for a warmer ride.

My wife and I rode 20 miles - down to Cook Rec Center and back. That was about her max today.

As far as the cold, we enjoyed it. Once we got going and warmed up, it was great. Of course, we didn't start until about 9:00 am!!
