I am planning on riding down to Camp Pendelton on Saturday morning. Basically starting in Aliso Viejo but if a group was comming down from Huntington we could meet in Dana point.

You guys could make the long drive to Frazier Park and do the 4 counties with us.

:) Thanks for the offer, John, but I'm going to ride to the Velodrome on Saturday. And on Sunday, I have to work in the afternoon.

I'll be at my parents' this Sunday, and gotta be home by lunch. Anyone up for a quick GMR/GRR run from Claremont?

Hey Jason, that would be perfect, as I can reach Santa Anita easily from Claremont. Would your folks mind if I cleaned up at their place after the ride? If not, I can easily go to the closest LA Fitness club and shower up. (EDIT: There's one right in Glendora) :)

I'll give them a call tonight or tomorrow night to find out. When do you want to roll? Sunrise is at 6:50. I'd be happy to roll as early as 6:40. Up to you.

7 or 7:30 roll would be fine and get us back in plenty of time. It should be a beautiful morning!

Ride up to Glen Oak. I'll be up there on Sunday. As a chaperone (me and my girlfriend) for some of the older ladies here at work who wanna go out there for some apples (they don't drive). It's an annual thing.

I told them last year i'd bring my bike this year so they can drop me off at the bottom of the hill and i'll ride up and meet them at the cafe for the breakfast buffet. But i'm not so sure about it right now. :(

Um...for your information, I can easily spin out 50 miles, my dear. My doctor didn't say I couldn't ride, she just encouraged me not to do a lot of climbing or riding in headwinds (which is equivalant to climbing in some cases). So, careful, or you'll challenge the riding dragon right on out of me...:p:D

Although...I may take this weekend to get my life (you know, the one that doesn't involve a bike?) back in order. So, you may just narrow the gap. Hmmm...methinks I smell a challenge. And it smells like I do after a long, long ride. :p :D

Joy, care to start a thread about our Sunday ride? As for start time, 7 or 7:30 sounds fine to me. Maybe 7 since I may be a bit of a straggler since I haven't been riding recently.

There's no marital privacy here?! And I thought I would finally get my adorable Assos-wrapped hubby all alone on the mountain!!!

You plan it doll, and I'll come meet you (i.e. you tell me time - and I can be flexible). I can swing by my lbs on my way to or from Wood Ranch, so that's perfect. :)

There is a Team ride for Cosmos Coffee in La Mesa leaving Saturday morning about 730ish...usually goes about 60-70 miles with a good amount of climbing...we usually run 2 groups...one group splits off and goes a little farther and faster and we meet up later...

I know SD is a stretch for most of you but if you want to go PM me and i'll hook up some directions.

Saturday AND Sunday! :D

I have no particular route(s) in mind yet... but I need to get my butt on the bike. Who's in? :D

As an orange countainian and time constrained on Saturday I was debating doing a dash down PCH to Pacific Island Drive, hop onto the bike path at Aliso Canyon, drop off on Moulton Pkwy, hit Shady Canyon then the back side of Newport Coast. Less the 50 miles with some good climbs.

If there are any takers (Tiff), I can attempt to build a bikeroute and would suggest starting at Bonita Park and leaving around 8:00 am.

Bikely.com seems to work...

To avoid traffic on Moulton with NO bike lane might I suggest once on Moulton make a Right on Laguna Hills Dr. Left on Paseo De Valencia, Right on Los Alisos, Left on Muirlands Blvd. turns into Barranca Pkwy, Left on Laguna Cyn back on your route. This is the route we always take coming back from the Oceanside Century. Just a thought:)

I always hated that part of the this route. I'll redraw the route. Plus it looks like it'll put over the 50mi mark. I better print this one out.
