I just wanted to share with you all quite an amazing accomplishment and success story - one that's been in the works for many years (of hard work, hardship and struggles). Yesterday my good friend of 8 years showed me the first of her offers for the position as a pharmacist - it was made by CVS/pharmacy, on the order of 109,000 to start + 20,000 sign on bonus.

For the last four years (since her 3rd year of pharmacy school) she has struggled to stay at the top of her class, and over this past year she has had to deal with several severe hardships and obsticals, she has been the victim of discrimination and false allegation (of which her name was cleared), and shortly afterwards she unexpectedly lost her closest sibling - her younger bro.. and yet she managed to persevere through her enormous class load and final exams. She tells me that she has only God to thank for this, but - I tell her (in part, just to be contrary) - that she has only herself to thank for her amazing accomplishment. I am really proud of her success.. even though/ and especially since I sometimes/often had a way of making life even more difficult and trying for her. Well, I just wanted to share this success story with y'all.

peace. :)

Man.. 'class I controlled substances are crazy.. The DEA keeps track of literally every single pill. She told me this story about a pharmacist who crawling around on their hands and knees for like half an hou looking for a single pill they had (supposedly :D ) dropped in a crevace.

Two years of community college + 4 more years of pharmacy school at 40 grand a year, yeah.. this is 'america'.. You get what you pay for, and (in one way or another) you pay for what you get.

Wow! That's an insane amount of money for any job, let alone pharmacist! That's on par with senior commercial airline pilots and cabinet members over here. I think the same job here would pay a little less than half of that. And we have higher taxes...

Congrats to your freind.
There's not many people who are willing to go through what a pharmacist has to go through in school
The pay is well deserved.
