Would it be wise to only use Shimano's SM-FC7800 bottom bracket ... for the Shimano FC-7803 triple crankset (Hollowtech II)?

So far, the only other BB I've seen that is compatible with DA's Hollowtech II cranksets is the "Rotor SABB BSA Ceramic Bottom Bracket":

I vaguely remember discussion about ceramic BB's, but I don't know if they have established a good track record yet. At any rate, is the Rotor ceramic BB something to consider for Shimano Hollowtech II cranksets?

Just buy the recommended Shimano BB and be done with it - about $40.

What he said. Of course, you won't have the cool red cups, but if that's worth $140 is up to you. The Shimano bearings will last, and are smooth. Spend your money where it makes a difference.

Ceramic bb - what a waste of money. Exception for racing or if you are rich or really don't care.

You are right, operator. I searched the BF on ceramic BBs. The small benefit of ceramic BBs, is way too expensive to even consider. We might see a day where improvements in ceramics are made at a reduced cost to the consumer ... but not today.
