Ok so I jumped into the shave after you shover bandwagon a good couple of years back. Tis good. But now I hear that you actually gotta exfoliate after you shower and then shave?.. Whats the logic behind this? As part of shaving arent you exfoliating already?

I dont even know what ex foliating means except that it ex and its foliating which has something to do with folicles which is hair. So one could possibly surmise that ex foliating is getting rid of hair? I dunno know.

I shave in the shower and use an apricot scrub to exfoliate first to smooth the skin. The logic is that you want to clear off the dead skin cells and make your face smoother (sand down the rough patches) before shaving.

I thought exfoliating was when women rub their foot on that rock to get dead skin off or something like that.

Exfoliate = remove skin through some kind of abrasive. No its quail..
I live in the American Gardens Building on W. 81st Street on the 11th floor. My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Its when your ex forgets her plants when she moves out and you pull the leaves off them.

So I should use an Agent Orange scrub before shaving, then?

OK back on topic please. This could be a life changing revelation for me  .
I would exfoliate if I were a female and hot, but i am a man and Texan, so double no. A polished turd still smells the same.

You got something against eastern Europeans? :p :D
So... what is this "shaving", anyway? I know of it not.
Zman, I am Texan, so I got something against all furriners.

Trust me I wish I was you. I hate shaving. Its this thing where you take a blade and chop off your fine facial hair.. all for what i ask? for what?

Remington is my weapon of choice. (Shaver, that is).
AI thought metrosexuality was passe?
You will get a closer shave with fewer oopses when you exfoliate first.
On my legs I use a natural loofah, which also makes the soap nice and foamy. Takes no more time that getting a little soapy without it. MUCH smoother results.
On more sensitive areas, I use st ives (or the store brand equivalent) exfoliating scrub. It makes a difference.
Don't have to exfoliate before you shave if you use woman's shave cream. The kind with lotion in it.

I use this:

or even better, this:
http://images2.nordstrom.com/ImageGallery/store/Product/Medium/0/_5343120.jpg
before i apply this:

to shave.
the scrub isn't about exfoliating, it's about softening your beard.

One would hope so.
But then again, some "men" like being pushed around and walked all over by women. YMMV.
BTW...shaving AFTER showering is for wussy.
