So who has been to any of the waterparks in the Dells? We're looking to head up there in November for our girl's third birthday.

Any suggestions? Our other girl will be 17 months old, so the place would need to be young'un friendly.

Other things to do there that are kid friendly besides the waterparks?

Maybe I can sneak my bike onto the back of the car and go riding up there, too.... suggestions for that? :)

Kalahari is nice for the kiddies. Most of the big resorts like Kahalari have zero depth water areas.
The whole town is kid stuff, go karting at big chief, kiddieland, Wisconsin Ducks etc etc. Just bring lots of money!!!!!

I'd say the Kalahari is the best of the big three. Wilderness is broken up into different smaller areas so if you get bored you have to walk to a different area in the hotel. Black Wolf has expanded since I was there so I can't really say how it is now, but the dry play area was fun for the kids.

How old are all the kids , I took my 4 year old and 6 year to great wolf lodge they love that
place, brought my own cooler with food and liquor,we still went out to eat one night, there is
also a nice bike trial in the area I believe the sparta trail. We payed 130 a night for the off season and
go during the week , sunday and monday there is a lot less people then . If the kids are all younger
than say 3 or 4 you might want to try a smaller resort were the rates are even cheaper.

I like the Wilderness. I'd suggest looking at renting out one of the Wilderness On the Lake Condos (http://www.wildernessonthelake.com/main.php). Its a bit on the expensive side (especially if you're going with just the 4 of you), but the rooms are nice (better than the cramped dorm-style rooms of the other buildings and resorts) and its much more relaxed and quieter! IMHO, the waterpark onsite at the condos is good for your kids, but you also have the option to shuttle bus it other to the other parks at the wilderness resort.

I agree, the Kalahari is tops and I've been to them all. Second on the pancake house. The fastest carts are in the amusement park.

What you really want to do is ride in the Bariboo area. If you want some hills ... they are there and I can give you some nice routes. Let me know.

I have done the polynesian hotel with my kids at that age they love that place.
The polynesian is geared to young kids. There are 2 tube slides but not as long as adult would
like. Remember you could give a kid a bucket of water and pail sand and they be happy.
The kalahari is nice , but your kids will not be able to enjoy a lot of it. You as adult will be able to though.
Coco Cabana is supposed to be nice for kids also at this age.

When I go up for 2 days the most I spend is about $100 for a family of 4. My kids get hungry
I tell them to head to the cooler in the hotel . I take the family out to dinner each night.
But it is easy to spend alot if your not careful , stuff adds up quick in the dells.

Cheapest hotel as posible, Noah's Ark, eating everywhere including Paul Bunyan's even if you know it will be bad. This is the Dells I know... no other way.

Upon further reflection, Dynodan is correct. For really young kids, the Polynesian is the best.

"The Dells" Definitely one of the last natural wonders of our country that has not been changed by the almighty dollar.

Oh yes do not forget to take a stroll around the old part of town, many candy shops where they make the candy on sight. As a matter of fact there are quite a few where they pack fudge right in the window!

We almost always stay at the Kalahari, but I agree with some of the other posters that with kids that age it's almost overkill to stay there (unless you plan on spending alot of time doing the slides yourself .... which we do).
