Is anyone else addicted to these things? I basically can't function without drinking a Rockstar every day. If I don't drink it, I get tired and cranky and all I can think about is how I want a Rockstar Energy Drink. They taste like carp and make my breath stink but I crave them nonetheless.

I've been drinking energy drinks since I was 18. I'm 23. WTF?

PS: this is the "Sugarfree" version. Even more disgusting.

I don't ever drink such things myself. Maybe if they made a sugar-free, caffeine free version that didn't taste animal waste products... oh wait, then it wouldn't be an "energy" drink.

Yes. Not as addicted. But I drink one every once and awhile.
Diet Rockstars are my favorite.

Carp flavored, though. Not sure about that one. ;)

I drink very little caffeine. I had a couple of Cokes this past weekend, that was the most caffeine I've had in years.

oh yes, Bawls is another one of my favorites, though I can't get it as cheap so it comes as a special treat. Don't get me wrong, I don't stick to Rockstar exclusively. Here are my favorite drinks ordered by preference:

1) Rockstar Sugarfree
2) Coffee
3) Rockstar regular (have to watch those carbs)
4) Bawls
5) Full Throttle Sugarfree
6) Monster Lo-Carb (this stuff jacks me up so bad)
7) Starbucks Doubleshot
8) Red Bull (this stuff is weak as hel)

Does anyone else think Monster is waaaayy too strong? I'm pretty (ie. extremely) tolerant to caffeine, but these things make me so amped up, like cocaine almost speed amped. Really lightheaded and jittery with a hint of panic attack. Although this may be post traumatic stress from the time I drank 3 of them and tried to go to the secondary section for a math class... arg.

Drinks I hate:
1) Go Girl
2) Anything Sobe
3) Mountain Dew MDX or whatever the hell it's called

Water probably gives you about as much energy as "energy drinks" do, and you don't have that s***ty feeling when you
come down off the caffeine high. Depending on the source, the water probably doesn't taste awful, either.

Plus, you can get a big-ass jug of water for the price of one of those three-ounce cans of energy drink.

Yeah, but water makes me pee.

Yeah, but water makes me pee.oh and caffeine doesn't? lol

that stuff is a super strong diuretic, second to alcohol i believe. if i drink caffeine before a ride i need to bring about 2 gallons of water, or else i'm dehydrated by mile 6... it's very strange to be extremely thirsty on a ride and also peeing on the side of the road every 15 minutes. yeah, i don't do the caffeine + biking thing anymore....

I have never had an energy drink that I know of, or at least not one branded as such.

I try to avoid energy drinks and sodas these days, but used to be able to pound them back the same way an alcoholic can pound back beers!

Make sure you get enough water throughout the day if you're pounding back energy drinks.

A while back I wasn't so healthy as I am now. (Bad home situation, etc.) I was working 2 full time jobs and the only liquids I put in myself had either caffeine or alcohol (or both) in them.

I ended up in the ER after an exhaustive dehydration collapse one day. It took 2L of i.v. saline to rehydrate me properly.

Try Guru. They've got a new sports one with electrolyte replacement. All are certified organic as well. Not bad tasting either.

Used to drink them, maybe a one or two a week. Now I just have a cup or two coffee every morning.

A monster before a interval workout is great. I limit myself to 2 Monsters a week because they are so damn addictive/strong. Diet Rockstar is gross IMO and doesn't give you as good of a buzz as Monster. How you managed to drink 3 monsters is beyond me. I tried to drink two once and only got through half of the second can before I had to stop.

I was an Energy Drink addict, but I quit. I had a doctor's appt one day. I had two Red Bulls for breakfast, a light lunch, and I was still wired from the drinks when I went to the appt. My blood pressure ended up being like 158/96, very high. I'd never been over 120/80. They had me do a 5 day blood pressure check. I didn't drink any energy drinks for the 5 day blood pressure check and the highest my BP went was 120/80. I attributed the high blood pressure to the energy drinks and it scared the crap out of me.

:D :D oh man. too funny.

Lately I've taken to drinking a Red Bull in the morning before my commute, and I've stopped getting coffee on a regular basis. Saves money at any rate.

I think I like Monster (the green one) more than Red Bull though. I might switch.

A couple weeks ago I had a small Red Bull, a large Red Bull, and then a Monster, all in the space of 4 or 5 hours. I was more wired than the electric company.

how do you get red bull cheaper than coffee?
