It is definitely a bad thing for the homeowners. Still this is not exactly a surprise either. That stretch of Mt Soledad along Desert View Drive has been known to be dicey for years. The property values of homes in that immediate area are lower because of the risk and homeowner turnover is high. Those who are unlucky enough to own there now basically lost a gamble. I hope things work out for them.

Looks like Mt. Soledad Road itself is toast. I will have to go up via a different street next time.

Is that the road we came down on in our 100 miles ride? Yeah, judging from the front page photo, looks like all lanes in that stretch are toast. Hopefully no injuries.
