I found this battery at Lowe's, http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=232491-38307-TF12BP , marked down to $7.00.

The ? is, is it worth it to build a light around? I am sure it is only Ni-Cad, but can't find ANY info beyond what the Loe's page has, like Ah, or anything. I thought for a charger I would get a car battery charger that has a 2amp output. Or I have a powerrwheels charger I could wire a plug onto.

Any thoughts, suggestions, please let me know if you think it is worth it or not.

I mtb when time allows, & the days are getting shorter here in Michigan. I also just got a road bike. Hard to say how much I will ride that at night.

I do have an OLD Vistalite setup from '96. Chargers are 7.5v out, halogen lights. But I know the new lights are far better than that set up.

I have been using a 18 Volt DeWalt battery like this for two years. Converted a Maglight to 18V using DeWalt bulb, mounted it to the front of the bike and away I went. I generally recharge the battery every four hrs of use or so.
