So i am bidding on this one item and if I look at the bidding history, its me and its this dude j***k.. Last I know ebay isnt restricting the user names to just first and last characters. Whats going on here? Am i being played to artificially bump the selling price?

The user who bid on my item is much like all of the fake bidders on the seller doctortalk found..

Um, if your going to link to that other BF thread, maybe you should read it also? They explain part of the way down whats going on with the user names.

Yoops.. I didnt read the thread after my first visit and it didnt have the new info..

I am not buying that ebay is changing the names as there are other auctions where I see full user names.

Once it gets to a certain value they hide the names.

That might be FSM, but I got auctions going above what the auction I am presently bidding at, whose user names in the bid history are completely displayed.

eBay is for entertainment purposes only... do not waste your money!

Auctions your bidding on, or auctions your running? If your the seller I don't believe they hide the names at all.

Ok sorry for the confusion..

There is one auction I am bidding on which has bidders like l***y etc etc. I can see other auctions, just clicking on random ones that are currently bidding for more than what I am bidding, which have full user names displayed..

The next paragraph is my semi-conspiracy theory rant about the changes to bidder history.

It's some shens EBay is pulling to protect their asses from allowing shill bidders to run rampant, and doing nothing when the sellers using shills even admit to it internationally (as one UK antiques seller has admitted on a webcast...and yes, his account is still active).

Really, I look at ebay corporate as a bunch of crooks. I became a sniper just for the reason of screwing up shills as much as possible, which pisses me off since I hate sniping, but oh well...if that's what it takes to get a good deal, so be it.

Oh, and I refuse to bid on any auction with those damn stars in it.
