Mountain Biking - Mountain biking Las Vegas?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone know if there's deceint trails around vegas? Possibly point me in the direction of a good bikeshop to rent at and/or local guided tours?

I rode Cottonwood valley back in August. I found a tour from Las Vegas Cyclery, where I rented a bike and went with a guide.

I looked at their website. Im thinking il use them. How was that trail? It says its advanced. How technical and steep? I might have some real novices with me, theyre young and in shape but I dont want to have to helicopter them out.

i havent ridden bootleg canyon but ive heard theres a lot of good riding there.. cottonwood is awesome and shouldnt be a problem for young in-shape beginners, moderately technical and not steep at all, lots of mild elevation changes
im going there tomorrow actually
just bring enough water. last time i was there it was like 104F!

It was a nice ride but I didnt think it was advanced. Not very technical and not very steep, the climb was pretty gradual. It was a good ride back down though. The novices should be fine with the ride if they are in shape.
Here are some pics of the ride to give you an idea.

Thx for the pics and info. So it's not a slickrock of las vegas, but it looks like a good ride.

Nice pics. I live not far from there and will be checking that area out as soon as the bike I ordered is delivered :)
