Just curious. I knew there were other threads, but I didn't think it prudent to dig them up.

For my part, I don't have a car yet. I have an excellent chance, however, of getting a Honda Civic CX with a JDM B16B2 under the hood. It'll get some attention from me, maybe a larger block, and then it willl really be mine. Who else?

I drive a 1990 Chevy truck and a 1990 BMW. Simultaneously.

At the moment, I'm a car borrower. Looking for one of my own, though. Trouble is, I'm picky.

Nah, I like the B16. Thinking about the B18 block, though.

The B18 block will make my engine in effect a B18 without internal work. Plus, the B16 head is the weapon of choice for the turbo Honda. AND, no I'm not running a Vette engine.

I'd have a WRX if I had my choice. BUT the Honda seems like a great substitute, especially for ripping on the local ricer boys in their Cavalier.

The rex was three times more expensive to insure for only 50 more HP. It's even nicer to crush the cavaliers (and Hondas) when the snow falls. It's so unfair... it's funny.

Whereas I can tell the insurance company it's bone stock, since the car was available exactly like it is now in Japan as the Civic Type R. There's no one real quick around here, 220fwhp in a 2100 pound car is more than enough.

subarus are the best. we've had several over the past 20 years. one finally gave up the ghost after more than 250K miles.

But you're already paying more for a "boy band" car. The insurance companies pretty much expect you to crash a Civic. A Subaru with no turbo and a 5 star safety rating is CHEEAAP to cover.

4wd is nice, but IMO the Outback for example is underpowered. The 4wd and the weight, well lets say the 4 banger can't cut it. My Honda has a carb, and people are surprised, some people even ask whats a carb....:D

Well let me just say if your Accord is stock there isn't really anything to be impressed about. I surprise people because my Honda has a carb and i drive it everyday with a/c.

I ride a bike, but when I absolutely need to use a car, I use a rental or a car share vehicle. I haven't owned a car in over 15 years. They are the work of the devil, I say- the work of the devil!!!!

1. It's not an Accord.

2. It's nowhere near stock.

Fast is relative. It's fast for a naturally aspirated Honda hatchback with full trim, yes. Not fast for, say, any import, or any Honda for that matter.

i hope you are not referring tome because i know my car has about 90hp to the wheels, so no way in hell is it fast. It is a good DD.

Mmm hmm. My Integra was teH uber teg. Balls fast. THEN I bought my DSM and modded it.

By the time I sold the DSM, the Integra seemed downright slow. That damn DSM ruined me... Until I was given the opportunity to thrash an STi for 2 hours.

Those damn STi's....

Yeah yeah yeah. I know I wouldn't beat a modded DSM, or a stock STi. I would however take 90% of what's on the street in my area.

Sat in it, started it, put it off the rev limiter, almost splooged.
