listen to his grunt of satisfaction at the end, he is feeling very pleased with his performance.

he appears to be leaning a bit more to the left than is advisable for the landing, but...he landed it with authority!

Hey guys, leave him alone. If you knew the whole story you wouldn't make fun. He was actually paralyzed from the nosehairs down after a tragic freeride accident when he tried to go through an automatic carwash as it was operating, unfortunately in all the spray, he didn't see the semi coming on the other side.

His brain is actually in his camelback. His waterbottle is actually his colostomy bag. He's lucky he can grunt, much less do those sweet jumps.

after watching the vid, clicked on another one:

It seems that the XTR has more motion in the upper half, and SRAM tends to be more firm in the upper half. But what does that mean?

It means any idiot with a webcam and a modem can post on youtube.

How do you propose that he mounted the computer (that he attached the webcam to) to record that?

"I mounted the camera off the back of the bike with a special mount made from carbon fiber tubes. It was a small lipstick camera that send video to a camcoder mounted in the pack.
Because the trail was rough I also stabilized the shot (Adobe After Effects) in the side-by-side shots to show how much each derailleur moved."

OK, so he is clever and idiot is a strong word.

The "test" revels the Shimano moves more on a horizontal axis when traveling over rough surfaces. Is he trying to prove that SRAM moves less and is therefore superior? In real life, both DR's shift extremely well when properly set up under the same conditions. A more compelling test would demonstrate whether or not the wider range of jockey wheel positions shown in the video effects actual shifting. Most Shimano riders would probably disagree since the DR can independently move on both a horizontal and vertical axis.

wtf...does the guy actually think hes great getting 8" of air?

dang when i was about 15 i jumped my brothers cheap dual suspension bike off of a 4' dirt mound, landed on my back (god only knows how i didnt manage to get hurt) and got up only to do it again, but landing the second time...

heck i used to get more air on an old schwinn 5-speed 27" road bike, my brother did as well.

but, it gives me something to laugh at :)

I must have missed the part about the computer and the webcam. Where is that part?

Do you know what a webcam is?

Yes, I know what a webcam is. In order to appease the dictionary gestapo I will gladly edit my previous post:
