I have an old bike that is great for stunts and jumps, which i love to do, but the problem is it has pedal brakes and they get in the way. Does anybody know a way to disable them?

You will need a new rear wheel. Simply buy one with a normal freewheel. And of course you will now need the brakes. That is all.

You may be able to get away with disconnecting the brake arm from the chain stay (frame member) or removing the brake arm from the hub all together. I've never tried it and can't imagine the physics of it right now but try it and let us know.
