I need a second mountain helmet!

I currently own a Specialized A-1 which is an inexpensive entry-level helmet. It fits nice, but when I wear it I look like a giant walking mushroom.

See, the thing is I have a big ol' head (I sort of look like that messed up clone of Stan from South Park). So when I wear most helmets, it's just wrong. :)

All kidding aside...I like the Giro E2 and Specialized Enduro helmets, but I haven't been able to try them out since nobody has them locally. I would like a lower profile helmet that doesn't make me resemble an orange on a toothpick.

Any recommendations would be helpful.

If you see me on the trail, just yell Ba-chewy-chomp.

:)

I LUV my Bell Influx! I have a big head for my 5'5'' body and my medium Influx hugs my head nicely, helping to avoid the ugly bowl look. Also it is VERY well ventillated, I've managed to survive two grueling 3 hour races in over +30C heat without my head felling like it was going to melt.

Is your head more round, or oblong? If round, stick with a Bell Helmet.

If oblong try out Giro.

I've had numerous helmets and like the fit of the Giro the best. I've had an Exodus and my latest is a Havoc, nice helmet, good fit, almost as many vents as the E2, and much cheaper!

I believe my head is big and spherical. Maybe I'll check out a Bell. Thx.

the specialized P3(ya theres a bike and helmet named that) is really cool.. I wanna get one soon. It basically looks like a ski or skateboard helmet except it has the right stuff to protect you. pretty cheap too, around $40 I think

i have a specailized s1 that i LOVE more so much now. it is an expensive helmet, but i got it at a nice sale price and i am sure you could find one cheap as they release the 2004 models. i don't know what your price range is, but the helmet is low profile and has about 23 vents or something absurd like that. i forget i am wearing it most of the time. the only downer is the price and the chinstrap can get annoying since its not padded.

Thanks for the suggestions. I wound up with the Specialized S1 in black, because black is slimming. :)
