Have any of you ridden one of these? Ive read some strong reviews of the bike. Do you think a 56cm frame could work for me at 6' tall? The bike is a CAAD 4 frame by the way.

a 56 will be a little short for you IMO, I'm 6'2'' and a 61 cm is just fine. I dont think i would so smaller than a 58. Have you ever tried to ride a 56? see if your LBS has one so you cen judge the size.

I havent tried. I sat on a 56cm Fuji the other day though. He said it would fit me easily. He said the smaller frame would probably suit me better. I havent sat on the Cannondale though. I dont want something with too short a top tube.

Its a nice looking bike. I have never found a bad review of it. Id be buying it without a demo ride though. My LBS was saying that alot of racers ride one size too small, to cut weight. Im assuming I could always adjust to fit, but I dont want to have a huge headache doing that. My Trek 1000 always seemed a bit short on the top tube. It was a 58cm, and I would wind up on the very back of the seat when comfortable. I wouldnt mind the smaller frame, if I can make it work.

I tried riding a small frame bike once and never got it right so I could do significant distance with any comfort. I had back aches every ride and swapped stems and seat positions a lot. Do not let some knucklehead tell you to buy a small bike to "save weight". that has to be the most bone headed comment I've heard from a salesman yet.
Especially a 56 for a 6' rider. I'm 5'9" and ride a 56. I am certain you'll be sorry if you buy this small bike.

Cool, thanks for the advice. Ill pass and wait for something bigger. One dealer I talked with had an awesome deal on a Cervelo One. I had considered converting it to road bars. It has TT bars on it right now. Cervelo claims the bike is easily covertible. He can sell me a 105 equipped bike for under $1000, and it would be my size.

remember that STI shifters are a significant portion of the cost of a road bike. a similarly equipped TT bike will tend to cost lest because of the bar end shifter setup.
