Overheard last weekend at a restaurant:

"Don't worry about that. My father and mother were also brother and sister."

Anyone else have any scary statements overheard while at a cafe?

Generally speaking the weird comments to overhear are from the table I'm at.

At a Burger Queen (yes, there actually was such a chain in the 60s and 70s) overheard this from the next table.

"I had a friend who worked here. He got mad at his boss and when he cleaned out the shake machine, he pissed in it."

"I lasted longer this time - 45 minutes but my ass is sore."

But that was my wife...

talking about riding the bike.

"You know, I'm sick and tired of busting nuts all the time..."

....one of my friends talking about his experiences learning to work on guitars, he kept buying cheap plastic string nuts, and upon install they kept breaking because he didn't file them to fit the nut groove properly.

Yeah, we were the strange ones that night.

....one good one I heard from another table was someone talking about crabs in her pants. I was speechless....that was too perfect a "WTF?" quote to even put any more thought to for fear of lessening it's WTFness.

Am I the only one who says crazy things in restaurants, when I think people are eavesdropping?

It's great fun busting them for doing it.

Not at an eatery, but:
I was at a Detroit Lions game last year and heard someone in the stands say "where the hell is the yellow line?"
Obviously referring to the superimposed scrimmage line placed on the field by the TV broadcasters.

 That's rich, pj. I have a self-imposed mental block when it comes to all things football, and even I knew that.

I wanna know where's the purple line around the puck and does it get broken if somebody hits the puck too hard :p

I was on a train entering Austria, and my GF said "I didn't know we were near Australia".

She really was a lot of fun.
