Any opinions on this bike? It is 105 equipped.
No responses? Klein is known for stiffness. You might want to ride it on a chipseal road and see how it feels. Klein is associated with stiff frames and quality construction. If it has a carbon fork and the price is right..... Steve

I own a 2002 Klein Quantum. It is also 105 equipt. This is my first real live road bike so I don't have anything to compare it to. That being said, I find it to be light and very responsive. After 3500 miles it is mechaniclly outstanding.
It has taken everything I have thrown at it. I'm a svelt 220 (down from 240 winter weight) and I climb big hills upright Lance style. I haven't blown it up yet.
If I had to do it all again, I would happily buy the same bike.:)

Klein's aluminum is probably the best alum out there. I have a 1999 klein and its relativley light for the age. However watch out because a few kleins were built in the Trek Factory a while back and were made with cheaper aluminum.
I would personally steer you to the newer Q-Pro Carbon as I feel it rides better (less stiff) yet with no difference in acceleration or lateral stiffness. But, I just don't remember the Quantum ride as it has been years since I was on one.
But, I do like the Kleins. A great aluminum bike.
Another highly regarded aluminum bike is the Pegoretti Fina Estampa (think the spelling is correct). Comments on other forums indicate this to be an outstanding bike.
But, I still like the Kleins. If it feels good go for it.
