Hey everyone,
Its getting to be that time of year again where its going to be cold very soon. I havent had much luck with gloves in the past for winter running and have found many of them to be bulky and make me sweat profusely. What gloves do some of you use in the cold for running? Any partiuclar brand? The lighter the better, and of course, the less bulky the better. Cheaper is better too, preferably under $20.
Thanks!
I run year around until it gets, dont only below zero. I had expirmented with many gloves and spent a lot of cash on silly running gloves. I forgot my gloves one day and some friends had agreed to meet and run somewhere, and it was in the teens. So I stopped by a store and the only gloves I could find was those incredibly cheap brown jersey gloves. Just cloth. Best dang running gloves ever. A couple of years ago I found a deal at Sams club for 20 pairs for 10 bucks or something, still have them. Just my opinion but I think this is a no brainer. and jsut throw thme in the washer.
Making,
I used to run in some similar ones, but Im really looking for a synthetic gloves that allow sweat to be wicked away. I found that when I would get warm, my hands would sweat a lot with the cloth and get heavy.

How about some liner gloves? Very thin, very light and wicking. You can find them anywhere that carries outdoor clothing or thermal underwear. I usually buy some no brand ones for about $10/pair.
I find thin polypropylene gloves (thermals material) available from my local camping supplies store perfect. But it doesn't get much colder than 4-5 degrees Celsius where I live.

Knit stretch gloves, usually found in the women's section. I grew up in Michigan and ran year round. A sweatshirt, thoes gloves, and a knit stocking cap is just about perfect for running in the snow.
Really, if your doing a good pace, forgo the the sweatshirt - go with the gloves and cap if your really wanting to shed the pounds. Gloves, T-shirt/tank, shorts, hat was how I raced in the cold.

Yeah, Id certainly wear less to race, but I dont really need to lose much weight at 6' 1'' and around 160-162. Ive been running in whatever is convenient the past few years and thought id upgrade. So that leads me to another question, for when its really cold, like <30 degrees Farenheight, do yall reccomend pants or tights? I usually just tough it out with shorts, but that was pretty miserable.
