hey...i'm almost done with an suv fixie of sorts, a winter mtb. i'd wanted to run mtb pedals and power grips, but i've got a little snag....
these are my pedals:

and i'm having trouble getting the front clip that has the strap adjusting screw down into the recessed screw holes because it's bent at inward angle, pushing it away.
part of me wonders if should bend it, if left and right are interchangeable in this respect, or if there's something else that i may be missing here.
any advice?
