I know it probrably does not exist. But I am looking for a bike rack that can store bikes with the front wheel up, space is an issue. There is room for about three bikes to be stored in a conventional rack with both wheels on the ground but a verticle rack would probrably increase that X 2.

Any Ideas. The $ky is not the limit on this. and these are for Walmart type bikes. This is outdoors too.

Add 2x4's as needed.

There are plenty of pics in this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=349223), which at the moment is just a few threads down the page from this one.

Thanks for the replys. I didn't see any outdoor verticle racks (as the title of this thread suggests) in any of those pics/links of the other thread. Looks as if I might have to go in the direction of AllenG's suggestion. although I think 2x4s might be a little too ghetto for this place.

I have a "good" problem at my apartment building, last year there were 4 bikes chained in some out of the way places. Now there are 15 bikes all over the place. I think they may even become an issue with fire inspections. The space is very limited on the property. One thing is that I have some "extra" parking spaces that I might shift over/convert to bycycle rack parking areas.

Right now I am just looking for ideas etc. I have some budget issues and I also cannot ignore what I have seen in the past: most people get a new bike, ride it for a short time and then do nothing but store it.
