Im heading to Moab over fall break and looking for a new bike. I cant make up my mind, what do you think between the 07 kona cinder cone vs. the 08 specialized rockhopper disc, or anyother that you think might kick some ass in that price range.

At that price range, you're looking at only a difference in "feel" rather than any difference in components or quality. Test ride all the bikes and pick the one that you feel the most comfortable with.
