Could you be a bit more specific? Which bicycles are you talking about?

I can tell by color. My Old Trek is blue whereas my newer Giant is red.

My commuter is the one that glows in the dark because of all the reflective tape and gear on it...my Raleigh is the one with all the shiny chrome...:p I lose my mountain bike because is dirty and blends in with it's surroundings:eek:;)

To the:) OP you need to expand on your question a bit. If you mean quality, brand, age,???

heavy, heavier and heaviest is the system i use.

and then there are the two i keep separated to prevent them collapsing into a black hole.

my 'bent is long and low and funny-looking. our tandem is long and has two seats and a horn and two bells.

This is more of an issue for Chinese cyclists where you ride a Flying Pidgeon, a Phoenix or a Forever and they are all black.

What a coincidence! I have a red hybrid and a black road bike too! :)

My mtb is green, and my trike is black & red...the color difference makes it really easy to tell them apart.

You know that the name of the bicycle can tell you most of the things you've mentioned above about the bicycle. :)

Also the differences between a road bicycle, a mountain bicycle, a tandem, a trike, a recumbent, a recumbent tandem, and a unicycle are pretty obvious.

Yup. Tricycle = three wheels; bicycle = two wheels; unicycle = one wheel. Color doesn't matter so much on a unicycle as all you really notice is the wheel.

What else is there to know?

I used white-out and painted a 'R' on my road bike and a 'M' on my mountain bike. Or was it the other way around?

And if you have a Fuji, you know that's a mountain bike because Fuji is a mountain in Japan.

You gotta look to see if they have a.......you know........an innie or an outtie.

If it has an innie, it's a girl and if it has an outtie, it's a boy! :)

Since I am completely blind I had the make and model of each bike embossed in braille on the handlebars, that way I know which is which.

Both my bikes are black so I have no idea how to tell the touring bike from the MTB. So what I did was I decided to keep one in the basement and one upstairs. That way I can refer to them as the Basement Bike and the Upstairs Bike.

my specialized roubaix has bite marks all over it because i can't tell it apart from red apples...then there was the time i tried to mount an apple...*shudder*

he could look at the serial numbers! Then label them Thing1 and Thing2
