Hi I am a newbie to triathlons, 2 sprints so far. I don't plan to extend myself beyond the sprint distance. Could someone make a recommendation regarding bike choice. Not sure whether to buy a road bike (looking at a trek madone 5.5) or a tri bike (e.g Felt s22). I currently have an old road bike and tend to do most of my training on rollers. Any advice?

if youre not going to go beyond a sprint distance tri you wont see much of the benefit of a tri bike over a road bike. get the road bike for its versatility and a set of clip on aero-bars. thats my $.02

Those are two really nice bikes you're considering. I'm assuming you must be a roadie if your considering a Madone. Get it with some clip on aeros if you're only doing sprints.
