i have a schwinn homegrown i built up myself from the ground up. all xt, front disc, rear v brake, carbon riser bars, 100mm travel w/lock down to 20mm marzocchi fork. thinking of converting it to touring since i don't use it enough for mtb. of course i will keep the parts and can go back and forth.
couple questions:
1. is a rigid fork necessary? if so, what do you suggest for a replacement fork? i think the steel mountain rigid forks will look silly against the aluminum frame and carbon is way expensive, thoughts?
2. flat mtb bar with ends so i don't have to mess with the shifters or go to drop bars?
3. obviously i will switch to skinnier town and country type or touring tires, any other changes?
