Introductions - Greetings from the Hoosier state
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've been reading posts from this forum for several weeks now and have to say this is a great place to learn about bikes in general. I am wanting to get a road bike, not sure what kind yet, but it seems like there are some very knowledgeable people on this board. Right now I ride a Hybrid/Trail bike with MTB tires on it. What a bear. I want to go faster! Anywho, just wanted to say hello all.

Greetings ThaSwCh, from another native Hoosier and cycling noob. What part of the Hoosier state are you from?
I spend weekends in my hometown of Culver, Indiana, doing some road riding and enjoying the gently rolling terrain and views of Lake Maxinkuckee.
Really enjoying discovering cycling and these Bike Forums myself, so let me be the first to say welcome.

Hello ThaSwCh, check the stickies in the Road Cycling forum for suggestions. The stickies are broken down by price range to make it a bit easier...
Welcome to BF!

And a hello from another Hoosier up in Lafayette! Welcome to BF!

Hello Tom! My wife and I lived in Lafayette for just over 2 years. Nice town. I kinda miss it sometimes, except for the smell from Staleys! Thanks for the welcome.

Hi guys! I just joined the forum today. But somehow I feel like home already.
I haven't really riden a bike since my freshman year at Purdue - Go Boilers! (I didn't realize how much I would miss Lafayette, until I moved. I actually get cravings for a peanut butter burger from Triple XXX.)
I recently moved from the Chicago suburbs to Plainfiend, Indiana. The change in job has given me more free time then what I know what to do with - so I have decided to purchase a bike and start riding again!
This forum looks to be a wealth of information, knowledge and great people!!!
I was 24 years a Hoosier, 6 of which were pedaling around Tippecanoe County (Go Boilers). I am now in far northwest Indiana (aka Chicago). In the words of James Whitcomb Riley: "No doubt about her being great, but fellers she's a leaky state."
