Northern California - last minute sat morning ride across the GG bridge

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
A buddy and I will be doing our usual ride across the GG bridge. start from the SF zoo, along the beach, through the GG park and head into Presidio. Across the GG bridge, left up the headlands and down to Sausalito and paradise loop. should be no more than 60 miles.
This is a fun ride. There's a 100% chance of stopping frequently, for fleet week, beautiful girls, nice view, and coffee while viewing beautiful girls.
so if anyone's interested, let me know. 10am, SAT, start at SF zoo.
P.S. neither of us will be going back to the start point. We will be spliting off at GG park on the way back. I'm getting my haircut.

Don't forget the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival: http://www.strictlybluegrass.com/
Supposedly 600k people attended this event last year so it might be a bit of a zoo in GG Park (I'll be there!)
yep, we rode thourgh last year too. please see the part about stopping for beautiful girls. :D

I wish I'd known about this earlier!!!!
Any chance of organizing a repeat sometime with more advanced notice? I'm down with frequent stops, ogling, and coffee. I'll even step up and add picture taking to the adventure. :D

Same here. If I had known much earlier maybe I could have planned to go to this girl oggling adventure. ;) A nice slow ride with frequent beautiful girl oggling stops sounds like a very fun...ummm....ride.:D
man, girls watching should be part of every ride. Honestly, nothing sexier than a hot chick passing you on a hill. or a beautiful girl with $4k worth of carbon and steel between her legs.
alright ladies, please do not be offended. just some harmless guy talk, that's all.

If I still lived in the bay area I'd definitely do this ride. As professional poser, this would be a perfect ride.

Danit...Can't do tomorrow but I am planning to ride the paradise loop next Sat.
I'm up for this depending on how long the ride will take.
I've been pretty much stuck at home with a sick little one for the past 2 weeks. My legs are all crampy from the lack of riding. so a nice ride like this would work wonders for me :) .

3 sounds pretty good and the wife seems ok with it so You can count me in if you like... I live in the richmond Dist. so I'll be biking to the SF Zoo. Where exactly will be the starting point? 48th and Sloat, the Zoo entrance on sloat or someplace else near the zoo?

How was the ride? I ended up doing my own ride across GG to Sausalito, starting from the Caltrain station. It was amazingly clear, and visibility was awesome, with the Blue Angels screaming across the sky in the background.

It was great. when was your ride? When we were going back around 2:40pm? right at the last left turn before hitting Sausalito I saw a NorCal jersey going into Sausalito.

That was me!!! I had a late start, so I didn't even get into the city till 12:45 ... Caltrain was utterly nuts ... everyone wanted to go into the city to watch the Blue Angels. I got into downtown Sausalito around 2:45 to 2:55 ... I took the route under the bridge, one that I wasn't aware of ... and one a lot of people didn't know about either. It's a great alternative, if you don't already know about, to get to Sausalito from the south side going north. That's where I took this pic from:

Yea, I thought that was you. I screamed out "NorCal" and you did turn for a second. If you remember 2 guys wearing red Arrogant ******* jerseys, that was us. Greg was in a white jersey. And I have been on the road you took, just never on a bike. We used to fish and crabing down there.

I couldn't remember if I saw you or not ... sorry, I didn't hear you scream out "NorCal".
I much rather prefer the road under the bridge. Very scenic. Maybe a ride starting from the Sport Basement at Crissy Field, across the GG bridge, under through to Sausalito, would be a nice BF ride?

I would but I have to get back kind of early and it's another 45 minute drive back to SF. Have a nice ride with the group. I am looking forward to the Mt. Tam ride.

I did this basic ride myself the same day! Even rode past the bluegrass festival on the way home. I'm definitely up for similar rides ongoing. I'm new to road biking and not all that quick but I live in the Sunset to would be convenient to meet up with you guys.

i went to the panhandle to meet up with some friends first (and forgot to turn my forerunner back on until we got on the bridge... thus the straight line.) on the way back through the presidio I didn't quite get to baker beach but rode pretty close to it. I'm there all the time for engagement photos (I do photography on the side)... try not to go too far down though... nasty old nudists down there.

oops, should've looked closer, I thought you took the 25th/seaclif way back. You actually went through Presidio just like we did. Oh well, but yea, I'll be sure to send you a PM the next time we ride.
don't forget the Mnt Tam ride on the 27th, and also this sat down here(near the South Bay). Come out, it'd be fun.
