Ok. I'm curious and just too lazy to figure this out. Plenty of engineers and idiot savants watching the clock right now so here's a little math work for you. First one with the right answer wins thanks and praise from yours truly...

A bike has a 130mm stem with 0 degrees. Stem is replaced with same length stem but has a 17 degree rise. How much lift in mm/inches would that bring about?

If you are looking for extreme accuracy, you need to let us know what the head tuibe angle is... :D

130sin(17)=38mm, but it will be 6mm closer to you. You might want to go with a 135mm stem at 17 degrees.

Are they the same brand of stems? If not, then their stack height is probably different, which would affect your answer...and of course you'll need to know the headtube angle to give a meaningful answer.
