...and experience some great customer service.

I switched from years of Sidis to some Specialized shoes last fall. After six weeks the toe areas of the soles were looking a little haggard and delaminating. I called Specialized, emailed pictures ten minutes later and a call tag was on its way, as well as a replacement set of shoes. That's no hassle.

Fast forward almost a year and the replacement set has one sole that is delaminating. I make another call, and five minutes later replacements are sent 2 day air and I'm back in business.

Now I'm just hoping that they fixed their manufacturing process and are able to have the soles stay bonded to the carbon bottoms.

Wow. Great to hear good news every once and again. I'm sure your macro shooting skills didn't hurt your case, either.

So.. great customer service, but lousy product?

Personally, I'd rather have a great product and lousy customer service.

Specialized apparently has great customer service from what I've heard bike-wise. Norco, not so much.

well i have some friends who have cracked their frame from casing a jump with a bike that wasnt designed for it (cant remember the model) and they got a replacment frame really fast. just one account of the service, seems pretty good in that story.

but if Specialized truely does have better service, it definitly helps that theyre a bigger company

I have a pair of Specialized something-or-other and decided to try out some Sidi Bullits to get toe cleats as there are times I have to hike-a-bike and my regular Specialized shoes were really tough for climbing up some of the steep/slippery stuff. I've never had any delamination problems like Pete but I don't do nearly the amount of mileage he does.

I find the Specialized shoes to be a much better fit than the Sidis although I really like the Sidis. I think for my next pair I'll go back to some Specialized with toe cleats.

Here's a pic I happen to have of the Specialized something-or-other.
