Hi there.
In order to achieve non-n00b status I guess this is the way to go.
Anyway, I currently own a MTB Kona Cindercone and I am looking to buy/build a road bike.

I have started my research but I may ask for some help from you experts.:)

My favorite for trail riding is Emma Long Park. I also enjoy the greenbelt because it is long and Barton Springs pool is very cold.

Cheers

Welcome pickle! I'm also making the switch from a mountain bike to a road bike. After lots of looking around, I stumbled across a very well kept up 99 Allez Sport bike for a good price. Didn't want to start off expensive until I get a better feel of the road bikes...So different than my mtn bike. I feel like I'm starting all over again..lol
You can use the search and type in different bikes to see what everyone is saying about them. I've been doing the same and have found some very good threads going back a couple of years ago. I've found great discussions on frame sizing, pedals and shoes....you name it, it's in here. You can even PM members if you see they have the model you are looking into. Other scenerio, don't be afraid to start a new thread if you want to.....everyone here seems very cool and they know what they are talking about.

Best of luck to you

Welcome to the Forums! I used to live in Austin when I was a kid and would walk to Barton Springs with my sister. Yes, it is VERY cold; i bet that feels great after a long hot ride in the summer!

yes the name is from the sandlot. I was watching that movie...one of my favorites, and decided that would be a funny name.

I am originally from East Texas.
