Greetings: I'm new around here but I've been bicycling for many many years. I split my time between Northern and Southern California specifically Mendocino and Orange Counties. Anyway I hope I am not in the wrong area but I have an advocacy issue regarding access. I've enjoyed riding Aliso creek trail from the start in the East to the end in the West. I would like it even better if I could ride it all the way to where Aliso Creek enters the ocean in Laguna Beach. It bothers me that the last few hundred feet of trail are closed to bicyclists by the Laguna Beach Municipal Golf Course, at least so I have been told by golf course personnel but I also can not find a way to get across the course with my bike. I am incredulous and very disappointed that the City of Laguna Beach which seems to pride itself on alternative lifestyles and a green attitude would prevent bicycles from completing the ride to the beach. I have tried to contact the City and no one seems to know or care who is in charge of the Golf Course. Anyone else have this problem or am I just missing something?

Post this at MTBR in the Southern California forum. Someone there will have your answer. In this forum they will just ask if you wear a helmet or not and then heckle or whine at you depending on the answer.

Is this thru private property?
Is it also closed to pedestrians? Are you allowed to walk your bike for that last 100'?
What is the reasoning of the golf course for the closure to bicycles? (sounds like you don't know yet)
Can you just go to the club house and try to find who the owner/manager is?
