While googling around, I ran across this link of manufacturers of pedicabs- never knew there were so many- many of which also make a variety of other unusual pedaled products- interesting perusing:

They're so cool. We have a couple working downtown, and people like them especially for out of the ordinary dates.

I think a Pedicab trailer would be nice

This is great- a pedicab trailer for a Segway:

Wow!! A grossly overpriced super duper, double-duty, electric powered Nerdmobile-Combo. Not my idea of utility cycling.

I'm not sure why, but the bike pedicab seems more romantic on a date... :)

Not sure? Did you see the pictures posted of the Segway-cab and driver?

Who would be attracted to pay for a romantic ride on such a frightful Gizmo? High tech nerds? Those characters are known for arguing over who pays a tip for the cab ride to a convention for Silicon Valley Billionaires. Enuff said.

Saw this ad on the Houston Craig's List. These pedicabs have been on Ebay and CL a time or two, as a lot of 18 or so unassembled, or individually, and price has dropped. I don't know anything about the seller or the particulars of the pedicabs:

My wife and I went to NYC sans child in October. There were tons of pedicabs (which was not the case when I lived there in the early 80's). Donnamb: I think the pedicab could be romantic....but our experience was just plan crazy, fun. It was raining, my wife had been sick, and we went out in search of chestnuts. Asked a street vendor...no luck .... but a pedicab was getting dinner there and said he thought he knew of a vendor at times square. So we were off.....dodging traffic on Lexington and park and racing another pedicab across one of the forties streets...all in the rain. It was one of the highlights of NYC

I LOVE rickshaws! While searching for parts for mine I came across this:
http://www.benluiindia.com/bicycle6.html
I emailed them and they gave me a price of $400 for the rickshaw and $105 for the gravity bike. Great prices and timely emails. But they wouldn't give me a price on shipping unless I made an order. Shipping has got to be expensive. I wish I were in a place to just import the things myself!

We have a bunch of those here in New York City. They cruise the West Side Bike Path in areas frequented by tourists, like the Dayliner Terminal on West 42nd Street. They're also used for advertising. I'd imagine they could be a bit warmer than traditional pedicabs in cold weather.

As squirtdad said, we have tons of the more traditional pedicabs around Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center and Times Square. Sometimes people like to use them instead of traditional cabs when traffic is particularly bad. Back in September, when the UN was in session and Bush was in town, you'd se people taking pedicabs to some of the ferries and heliports so they could bypass all that gridlock.

The owner of the local DD service I work for on and off picked up a Mainstreet pedicab part way through the VT football season. Shuttling people between the stadium and downtown was a blast, no traffic and "tailgaters" are quickly becoming my favorite customers, good tipping habits and free grub. During the remainder of the fall season, I'd run it downtown between the bars and between DD cab pick-up points. It caught on quick, and students and professionals were lining up just to get pedaled around town or campus just to be seen. Lately it has been a bit cold for the pedicab., I am originally from the NYC area and can handle the weather but commuting by bike all day for my day job then pedi-cabbing (sp?) from 9p to 2am starts to get old quick. Also during the break Blacksburg is ghost town and fares in general are down. In a few weeks myself and the owner should be back out in force for the spring semester.

Here is the link for Hooptie Ride! http://www.hooptieride.com. Super old site, after much pleading there are plans for a much more in depth site after classes start, and yes a few photos of the "Hokie Pokey" orange and maroon pedi-cab will be posted once I take a few!

If you search, there are about a dozen or more different Indian bike manufacturers. Beware that these products may be shipped completely disassembled, including unspoked wheels, and that quality can be very variable. (see my "Old English Roadster Replica" thread in the "Classic and Vintage" thread for more information.)

You might try the Recumbent forum for that item.

There is another manufacturer, and I've seen these on the streets of New York City:

http://www.velotaxi.com

I like the sleek styling, the puller has a recumbent seating position.
