Hey has anyone ever used a Proshift Rear Derraileur? I'm thinking of running one, however are they made mainly for DH'ers? I would like to run two chainrings, most likely a 32 and 44 and a 12-34 cassetes, something with an easy hill climbing gear. I dont know anybody who has every used one. On the reviews on MTBR, it seems as though people who had low end bikes used them, however the part was not cheap (100 bucks).
Any input would be appreciated
Thanks

proshift = $$$
proshift = total rebuildability if new parts can be gotten
proshift = new parts impossible to find

and btw, i dont think it is directed more towards dhillers as it is touted as one of the lightest rear derailleurs. also, i think it is owned/manu'd by bombshell at this point. me, id run a road derailleur, the springs are stiffer and give crisper shifting. for your chainring config what id do would be to run a single 34 or 36 ring and run that same cassette for a couple reasons : less to worry about, no chance your chain will come off in the front, you will still get a pritty similar combos less the really big ones that you will find to be unnesecary, and if thats a concern drop the smallest cassette cog down to an 11. and if you do then you can run a shortcage derailleur which will give you even crisper shifting and more ground/obstacle clearance and will be less apt to bend hangers..

sorry if its really discoherent, its only 10am!
