Have you ever noticed that a 1 hour cross ride is way more painful then about any other type of riding

Some of my mountain bike rides have been way more painful than my cyclocross rides.

I did a 40K time trial this summer that was pretty painful. The flavor of the pain was different, but I honestly can't say which was "worse". You can make it easy on yourself if you don't give a crap about how well you do. Once you care, you are in for some pain.

I have done cross races, 5k's, 10k's, half marathons, duathlons, both and off road, and of course, mountain biking at the Beginner and Sport Level.

CX was the hardest. The mud. The sand. The running. The jumping. The cold. The grass.

Its a suffer fest

CX racing is the hardest hour you can do. It feels like a pure battle :fight:

A CX ride? I guess it depends how hard you go.
