Introduction: Yorkshire-American living in Raleigh, NC, because someone has to. Been cycling on and off 30 years: time trials, triathlon and now developing a love for mountain biking.
Standard? Just got my first SPDs and shoes…. Does that say it all?
Riding: grown-up sons cast off Giant Rincon (2000 model)
Where: I ride in Umstead State Park and Du-Pont National Forest, NC’s great new MTBing treasure. Also give the deer ticks something to laugh at Lake Crabtree County Park.
Standard: way above my competence level.
Loves: Stitching wheels, almost all the rides from Reasonover Road, writing long introductions.
Hates: use of the word ‘epic’ unless someone in the party dies, AMBA (Asheville branch) aerosoling trails in Pisgah National Forest fluorescent orange, manufacturers who won’t tell us how to repair their products, people who write long introductions.
