Road Cycling - Turbo Armadillos!

I just bought a set today and will be using them for the first time tomorrow on my first metric century. Can't wait, tommorrow is a lot of first for this MTB gone road person. New tires, bought my first jersey today, bought my first good set of shorts today, and my first metric century. I just hope the weather is nice.

Those turbos can be a bear to get on the rim. Be careful you don't pinch the tube, etc.

Keep them in a warm place till you get ready to put them on. They aren't that tough to put on but just a pain. I have usedmine for over a year. My first set lasted almost 3000 miles with only a couple flats. The rubber actually started peeling off. This second set is nothing but problems already had 3 flats due to punctures and about 4 flats due to crappy tubes with around 1000 miles on them.

I second the advice that they mount easier if warm. put em in the car for 30 min.

They werent as difficult to mount as I had worried they would be. Just take your time and use tubes tht arent inflated at all and tubes with no Slime in em. You wont need the slime.

Based on advice here I bought a set last week. I rode 110-130 miles this week with no flats.

Riding in the same areas the previous week resulted in three flats.

Wipe them if you end up off road somehow or have to ride through debris or glass.

Your gonna love those tires!

The good news is that you rarely have to remove and remount Armadillos! They just don't flat.

Awesome ride from the tires. I was concerned about grip with them being fairly smooth brand new. 62 miles later, I'm sold. Especially after seeing so many people stopping with flats on todays metric.

Glad you like them. I love mine except when I get a flat but that is rare with these guys. The only downfall is the weight but I can stand a few extra grams if it means a few less flats ;)
