Training & Nutrition - numb left pinky/ring fingers while sleeping

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. For the past 4 months or so, the pinky and ring fingers on my left hand sometimes get numb while I'm sleeping. Has this happened to anyone?
This past April I got a new job, which I can commute to, and I've been riding 10 miles a day round trip. I'm not positive, but I think the numbness might be related to the riding?
I know I need to get to the doctor to get it checked out, but I haven't had time lately and my doctor normally doesn't
Any advice is appreciated.

Yes, but it was before I started riding. Yoga and strength traning have made it go bye bye.

Pressure on the ulnar nerve makes those finger go numb, on a bike it can be cause by having too much weight on your hands while they're on the bars, making adjustments to your riding position can help, along with moving your hands to different positions on the bars.
As for when it happens while you're asleep, can't help you there unless you're sleeping in the saddle, in which case I'd say stop doing that.

I have the same problem on occassion. I wake up and massage the area until it goes away. I think it may be a combination of hand position while riding and typing a lot. For me it only comes and goes every once in awhile.

I am feeling the effects from that now.
I rode 85 miles yesterday and about 2 hours after I noticed the feeling and is has'nt left for 16+ hours now.
I hope it goes away
I noticed that too. If I rub the numb area and "wake it up" it appears to go away.
I've done some more research and it appears to be Ulnar Neuropathy or Handlebar Palsy. I hope it doesn't prevent me from riding. I'm getting some padded gloves today.

I had it for about a month - same two fingers, left hand. Didn't seem to be related to riding at all. It went away. Wife had same thing and she doesn't ride all that much. Hers went away, too. Rubbing, etc., didn't seem to help. I think it's something to do with sleeping position.
