Commuting - LBS representin'

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

At the stop light on my commute this morning I saw another bike pull up. It was a Cervelo with a roadie in full LBS kit. I don't normally see anyone on my commute (never on this particular commute) so I said "hi". I got no response (to his credit perhaps he didn't hear or I didn't hear a reply). Rather than stop he proceeds to pedal in large circles across our lane and the opposing lanes of traffic (enter and exit into a development) presumably to warm up his legs. Rather than wait for the light he blows through four lanes of busy traffic (two straights and two turning lanes). He did not cause any accidents but it is certainly no way to represent bicyclists nor the LBS (also where I purchased my monocog which I was riding). This is just kind of a rant with no point.

I have a friend whom I finally told to stop that or I would quit riding with him ... he didn't like to unclip/clipin ... so he would do those assinine antics in traffic as well.

I am sure he would like nice, warm legs when he gets RUN OVER and he is DEAD. Also, he needs to man up and do his warming up before he gets on the bike.

Pointless rants are fun. :)
