so riding on sunday, i was passing a tow truck and misread where my pedals would be at the closest point to him (i am going to blame it on wearing glasses when usually i wear my contacts) and my pedal came down and slammed into the curb, launching the bike and I up onto the sidewalk. didn't get hurt didn't hit him, and i have had a couple pedal strikes before when i had 175mm; so thought everything was ok. But then i started to feel a grinding/resistance for 5-7o'clock on my stroke. what did i damage? what should i check for?

1) spin the pedals with the bike upside down- make sure there's nothing bent/touching/wiggling close enough to rub against the bike. Might have bent the crank, or shifted the chainring.
2) pedal damage- compare the spindle to the non-impact side, and turn both pedals while applying pressure, to see if the spindle/bearings/pedal body are damaged.
3) bottom bracket bearings- take the chain off, and turn the cranks. If you feel roughness/resistance at the 5-6oclock position, then there's a bottom bracket problem.
