Fifty Plus (50+) - Changed bags...

I removed my old Trek bag from the Roubaix, similar to this:

and replaced it with this:

Not only does it look far better on the Roubaix, but I expect at least a 1 mph speed increase too, given less drag.

The older bag fits nicely on the Cypress, and looks like it belongs there as well.

Those are a mirror image of the Specialized bags I've gone to as well......except I choose bags to match the colors on the bike!!!

My favorite bag is still my cylindrical handlebar bag from Bellwether.

I've got the Velo Orange version of that bag. Also the VO front bag. Of course...I don't have any white bikes.

Great looking bag. Far smarter than my specialised "Mini Wedge" that I got for the Boreas- and about twice the size. Only thing is- Knowing your Mechanicing skills- What are you going to put in it?

Nah, the black bag nicely frames the white frame, so to speak. Hanging under a black saddle it looks perfect. :)

Is that the Aero Survival Wedge that comes with a took kit? It's on sale at Performance for $24.99. According the their specs, it is 8 1/2 inches long and I'm wondering if it would look too big compared with the seat size.

Nope, it is a stand alone bag. I paid about $18 for it. It's almost but not quite as wide as my seat.

I have a similar ToPeak Aerowedge on my Mountain Bike. Great bag.

How do you like the stock seat on your Roubaix? I bought my Rx... for long distances but find the seat a limitation as a ride approaches the 100 mile mark. I have a Brooks B17 on the touring bike and it is great. I just ordered a Brooks Pro...Hope it is as good on the Rx as the B17 is on the Surly LHT.

I love my stock saddle on the Roubaix. I have the same one on my other bike. So that's about 3,000 miles on the avatar.

There are such a variety of wedge's about- but it should be just about large enough for what you need to carry. That Speciallised Mini I have will not hold a great deal- but thats why I have a Cycling jersey with pockets- for the extra. The trek one I bought is a bit larger- but has to be stuffed out with a chain cloth- which is never used as I don't have a white bike.

I like the cylindrical handlebar bag that Rivendell makes, and it is practical on my touring bike. But it's too big for a roadie. I like being able to access handlebar bags while in motion, and have looked for small handlebar bags with access of the bag facing the rider. The handlebar bag below is the only one I've seen that is both small and has its opening facing the rider.

Anybody got experience with ... or recommendations for ... handlebar bags for roadies?
