Would someone be willing to have a "court watch" that monitors what happens to some of these drivers who have hit cyclists? There's a couple of cases I'd like to follow and find out how the courts punish drivers but it seems like the papers cover the cases for a few days and then lose interest.
First case of interest is the one of the Seattle man who hit and severly injured a cyclist in 2005 and then hit and killed a ped in 2006, then ran a red light in Jan '07. From what I hear he'll probably be fined $5,000, but there seems to be no coverage of the court case which started last month.
The second case is the case of the Des Moines man who drove up on the sidewalk in order to hit a black cyclist. The case seems to have disappeared, no coverage.
The third case is the one in Portland where a janitor intentionally hit two cyclists, again no coverage anywhere I know of
