Mountain Biking - Anyone using this seat?

Looks like a good deal and I need to replace my GT lite but hate to buy a seat without feeling it first.

Ive used two speed V's and a race V in the past and had great results from them. Comfort and value but not the lightest.

I don't ride this saddle, but if I did, my sit bones are probably different than yours anyway.
Your correct about needing to try before you buy if at all possible.
I don't think other peoples experience will translate very well to you, given as we are all so different.

Thats kind of what I am affraid of. I haven't been able to get to a LBS but the GT lite on my bike is killing my stuff :(

Yes, so user specific! I would'nt have even posted in this thread except that there have been lot's of Speed V, Race V, and Pure V threads, and a lot of members seem to like them. I think I've had $300.00 worth of saddles in the garage that I couldn't ride, at one time!

And this is where we get back to the whole user-specific issue. I have an ancient Specialized saddle [made by Selle San Marco, I think] that I love. It's falling apart, but is so comfy. On the other hand, I have yet to ride on one of the Body Geometry saddles without wincing in pain after about 5 minutes. My preferred saddles are the Flite series from Selle Italia, and an SDG I found in a bargain bin.

To the OP, unless you can return the saddle, I'd try before buying.

I've swapped out all my saddles to wtb saddles over the past few years. They just fit my behind well. However, understand that your mileage may vary.

I have nothing but good things to say about WTB. They adorn all 3 of my bikes because I've found they work very well for my rump and inner thighs. Nice and cushy. No problem getting behind the seat on steep downhills either. I also agree that people experience different results from saddles. Terry Fly saddles are reknowned for their comfort and receive glowing reviews on MTBR, but I tried one for a week on my commuter and it gave me saddle sores! Positive I had it set up properly as well. I returned it and picked up another WTB, been golden ever since. I wouldn't worry about the slight additional weight unless it's going on a dedicated XC-race bike. And in that case, comfort might not be your main concern anyway~

My WTB Rocket V Team Ti is somewhat similar in shape and it's prob. the most comfy saddle I've had.

I've had two WTB seats, they were hatchets.

A little over price in my budget view. I got a Rocket V SLT Ti for $80. I will suggest you get a high end model....300g+ for the saddle is heavy

My buddy has a few laying around he said I could use so I will probubly stick with that. Hopfully next year I will get a lighter bike and this one will be come a town/rail trail cruiser

I had a speed V stock on my bike .. pretty comfortable.. unforunately I bent the rails on it ... replaced it with a laser V ... the speed V was a little wider and firmer... I like it better, but the laser is ok.

You were implying the foolishness of wanting a lighter saddle, in your usual degrading way. If that is not what you were implying, then I recommend you correct your post, because that is what one might get out of it. You wouldn't want to offend achc accidentally, I'm sure.

Your selective use of connotative and denotative analysis of your own posts as well as other's is quite masterful. It is quite easy to simply use whichever proves your point. I put a WTB Speed V on a new build - it hurts my bum. Back to the trashed Selle San Marco for me.
