Hi all,

I was about to get the ProdigyXC isis cranks but some guys told me not to get them since they break and bend easily even on aggresive XC. I am 220lbs, aggroxc trail rider, no jumps or hucks...just heavy trail bombing on a hardtail. Is the prodigyXC such a junk? They advised me to get the ProdigyDH instead...is it more stiff/durable? Also i am starting to considering Truvativ Holtzfeller cranks (triple chring) 745g.

Any ideas? Also any info on the new Raceface Evolve cranks would be appreciated.

I have the Prodigy XC and love it. I was riding on it at 257lbs and it worked fine. I am now about 190 and it works even better. I also am a trail rider with a hardtail, no big drops.

I have had the prodigy XC for about a month and a half, and it has worked great, but if you hit the big ring into anything, logs, rocks, etc, it will bend. My big ring scraped a rock and ever since my chain catches the big ring just enough to make a clicking noise if im in my middle ring, and have the back shifted onto either of the smallest two cogs. So if you are posibly going to wack it into things, you may want to consider somthing else, or just put a bash ring on it.

I am interested at a rock solid contact with the bb. I never touch chainrings on anything so buckling them is not an issue for me.

If rock solid is what you want then The New M960 XTR crankset is what you want or it's Saint Freeride version.
JUst installed one on my Dale and it is stiffer than a stiff thing.
Shimano has really moved the stiffness to weight ratio well beyond what anyone else is offering at the moment.
