Ralph, a good example in your industry is the ADA compliant surfacing underneath playground equipment.

You're right, but again, it's a very small amount in comparison to what's tossed. I'm in no way saying it shouldn't be done and if it makes people feel better about themselves to do, it then great, but I don't like it forced down my throat by the gov and then having to pay to recycle (look at your trash bill sometime, many cities charge for their recycling effort).

I refuse to do anything for the environment that might put me out or inconvenience me in any fashion, because these all conveniently happen to be hoaxes perpetrated by the liberal media.

Ralph, the stuff doesn't stay in the recycling center. It is used to make new product.
I thought that part was obvious. However...

Only a very small percentage. Most of it is in huge piles in desert storage faculties waiting for a use.
That is in fact the sad truth. I don't think they have actually figured out how to recycle half of the stuff they collect.

But don't you have to pay for that service whether you use it or not?

My work is 1 block away from a recycling center and 2 blocks from a city landfill. All I can tell you is that the recycling center stays the same size but the landfill keeps getting bigger. If recycling worked, wouldn't it be the other way around?

Well, no doubt the world is a crappier place, environmentally and socially speaking, due to the cumulative effect of poor personal disposal habits. Absolving yourself of personal responsibility by claiming conspiracy on the part of larger entity is juvenile.

Now, go clean your room.
