is that this year or from when?
I'm a full time devoted commuter and errand runner all year and all weather, ride weekend centuries, I am a firm believer in "bicycles for transportation" 10,241 as of right now, since January 1, 2003.

I don't have that many miles as you all this year, but I have to put things in perspective for you.
Every year from 1988 up until august 2002 0 miles, 11,000 cigarettes.
This year, 203 miles 0 cigarettes.
I think that about says it :)

I have 877 miles in so far. This is my third year of "serious" riding (I'm 34). I have hopes of hitting 1,000+ every year from here on out. This is Wisconsin so my time is pretty much limited to riding from March to November. I refuse to ride while there is still sand and salt on the roads.
You folks who hit 2,000+ miles really impress me. I don't know where you find the time. I have two kids. My wife works a different shift than me, so when I'm home I'm watching the kids, and vise-versa.
Oh well they are getting older (as am I) so soon i will be able to just bolt whenever :)
1,005.8 miles since July 2nd, excluding rain days when I ride my fixie, and the week and half spent in various locales without my bike

I'm a brand new rider and except for the week that my computer went blank I have 152 miles since the end of July. :) Just getting started!

ohh my goooodness! You guys and gals are amazing! I'm bringing up the rear with a measly 300+ miles for 2003 (better than 2002, but not nearly as much as I'd like). I have some work cut out for me.

575 miles since April with a goal of 1000 for the year.....2 crashes - steep learning curve with clipless pedals beating up a slow learner. :)

Since returning to cycling after a 10 year lay off ... 700+ since late April.
i don't have records since jan 1, 2003 since i had replaced the battery of my cyclocomputer last july.
But my estimate is about 1500~1600kms(Jan-mid July). This was on my hybrid. Mid-July to date is 150kms.
But on my road (new), Odometer reading is at 600km since Mid July...
1600+150+600
Total = 2350kms ~ 1468.75 miles.
Put computers on the bikes at the end of March. 925 on the road and 325 on the MTB. Didn' t ride much in January and February.

I have only done only 800km so far, but about 600km since I got my new road bike. Is being young an excuse for not putting in so much mileage? I am planning to do over 2000km by the end of this year. I know it doesn't sound easy but I hope I can do it. I have never rode more than 40km at a go because I seldom have energy bars on the go and I do not have 2 water bottle holders. I might start getting some bars to help me out and probably get more miles. It is quite hard though since I only have the weekends to really ride, and maybe Wednesday and Thursday. I still have to fit in my track and field training. This is the point in time when I really see great improvements. Heart rate is once again lower at the same effort level previously. Polar Fitness Test revealing at least a 4 points jump from 61 to 65 currently. I am recovering better and much better feeling everyday. I can only hope and pray that I can do more cycling. I am currently preparing for the x-country championships next year so may have to part with cycling especially the few months leading up to the competition.
To you guys, keep riding!

715 miles since June which is good for me. Also, going to do my first metric century in September. Looking for 1000 miles for the cycling season.
I tried to ride 2/3 of a mile for every mile that was ridden in the Tour de France. If they rode 150 miles in a day, I'd ride 100. By the end of the first week I was sore as hell. I think I'll do the same when the Vuelta gets going.
Well Dusty (our cockatoo) destroyed my computer earlier this year so I got a new one. But I did not have very many miles in. Since the new computer, I had 5870 miles as of this morning or thereabouts.

I've ridden 348 miles since Apr. 2003. A lot of these were single track on a mountain bike where 7 - 8 miles will do you in.

I've had a couple of cycle computers die on me this year but my mileage is somewhere around 5000-5500 including racing and training.
I crossed the 2,000 mile mark for the year this week.

note: over 90% of these miles are done while my family is still sleeping. i ride @ 5:30am. (even on weekends unless i do a group ride that is 8am to ???) the baby has slept through the night and is smiling up at me when i return a little after 7:15am. i put his passie back in his mouth, tell him i'll be right back....take a quick shower then change him and feed him. by that time the others are awakening....and we're off.
i go to sleep just after they do @ 9pm.

would have 5x as many but i have to be a husband, father ....and i have to go to work
This year has been pretty good for me, a bit behind where I would like to be though. The warmer weather starts soon, so hopefully I can make up some distance.
YTD 5580km/3487miles with 58,000m/190,000 feet of climbing. That's a lot of hills.
CHEERS.
