You accidentally left a shop rag on the top tube when you took the pic. Other than that it looks nice.

Nice bike! I think it'll look better with a more traditional saddle too. :D

Are front and rear hub spacing the same on a fixie? Have gears on both, and just swap front/rear wheels for different gearing?

No Dave, that is simply a large flanged front hub with 100mm spacing like some road hubs. Like most track bikes, rears are usually spaced at 120mm.
Speaking of different gearing, the rear hub has threading on both sides of the hub so you can mount a cog on each side. To change gearing, you simply 'flip' the rear wheel. :)

the pedals on that bike are so small, it's hard to get a good grip on them with sneakers...

I had to swap them out for looks(bottom dollar) because I didn't feel planted enough.

Now I constantly pop out of the crappy looks !

great for me ... I earned it.

i'm going to get some nice khs pedals with steel clips and nice double straps. the plastic ones that came with it are complete shlt.

looks good, what gearing did it come with?

48/16. i kinda want 46/17 because i'll be commuting with it.

You accidentally left a shop rag on the top tube when you took the pic. Other than that it looks nice.

yea, yea. it's to cover up the logo on the top tube. there are so many damn decals on this thing and they are all under the clear coat. i just took it off and put electrical tape over it.

46x17? Keep the 48 and drop a 14 on it.

BTW, someone peed on your handlebars...

thanks tehk. i took the bandana off because i wasn't really feelin' it. i just put electrical tape over the top tube and fork logos.

dddave

here it is now with some dirtier tape, a campy front wheel (from my old giant, has a quick release), and no more fork or top tube logos.

Why do you hate the word "Kilo TT"?

PS: How did you remove the decals?

Very nice ddave. I was just looking at the green version in a thread in the SSFG forum, it's a nice looking bike!

Brandy, we all know you want one! ;)

I already have my temporary fix. In fact, I just got back from riding 2+ hours on her.

http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/2006/dec/GeorgeVargas-1.jpg

Once I prove worthy (aka, I actually ride her instead of swapping my pedals back to a multi-speed bike when George isn't around...lol) we're building a steel Milwaukee for me. :)

That's great Brandy! I knew sooner or later you were going fixed. You're gonna love your new Milwaukee. The first trick you must learn on your fixie is trackstanding. :D

Thanks George. Now that I'm getting the hang of it, I really enjoy riding FG. The hardest part for me is clipping back in once I have stopped at a light, but I'm getting better at that. I've perfected the slow roll to the stoplight and pray that it changes quickly maneuver. :p

The plan is train mostly on the FG through the fall/early winter unless I'm out for a climbing ride. I need to work on my spin.

Sorry for hijacking your thread dddave!

Yep, you pretty much have to engage the pedal on your first stroke.

i don't "hate" the word kilo tt, i just think the bike has way too many decals. and i din't remove them i electrical taped over them. kinda janky, but it looks fine.

dddave
10-16-07, 02:25 PM
also, i went on my longest ride yet on it last night. only about 14 miles, but it was pretty decent. before that i had only done short trips to bars and such because i didn't have a brake on it. but now i do and i have a feeling my bianchi won't get used very much.

Also known as the "mistime it because of a janky three-way light and do a hilarious (to everybody but you) 0-mph fallover" maneuver.

If you do it right to should be hilarious to you too. Once you know you are going down, make the best of it by hamming it up. Flail and roll around more than you need to. Make a big production of brushing yourself off, straightening out, and glaring peevishly at any observers.

i have yet to fallover in public. i fell over in front of the stairs to my apartment because i couldn't pull my left foot out in time. at lights i don't even chance it. if i know i'm going to have to stop, i get my foot out early.
