I have not done it. One reason I was wondering about the route was to see if it was something that I could do on my single speed Worksman bike.

On the Turkey Roll website, it mentions they have long-sleeve tees for the first 500 registrants, and I would guess that's sort of the number, or maybe minimum or maximum number, they anticipate.
While I was out Saturday, I drove around the 20/30 mile routes just to see what they were like. FM 428 once you get out of town has wide shoulders with some hills on it. On the 20 mile route, once you get to FM 2153, the route levels out. FM 2153 has no shoulder, but also not much traffic. On the 30 mile route, you have some good uphills going into Aubrey, and then looks like you lose that elevation coming back west on 455. I rode part of this route on the "Fun Ride" a while back, and the hills didn't seem to slow the good riders down, but sure slowed some of us down. All in all a definite "maybe" for me.
Most of the routes are out in the open where you'll feel any wind blowing- especially, I would think, in coming across the dam on 455.

My only addendum - those roads are horrendous chipseal. I do a series of time trials in the aubrey/celina area. Be prepared to get your teeth rattled!

Oops. Went on the ride and discovered they go around the loop the opposite direction. And on a bike, didn't seem to be a net elevation gain one way or the other, just various hills.
On the chipseal, it seemed a little rough on the shoulder on 455 right by the dam, but got smoother as we went east. I was on my Worksman with balloon tires, averaging 13.2 mph, so that wasn't a major concern for me.
